Welcome to California's North Coast

With free-flowing rivers, rugged mountain ranges, and rural towns surrounded by open ranges, dairy farms, redwood forests, wild salmon runs and cackling geese, the North Coast region is considered one of the last best places on the planet.

The Northcoast Regional Land Trust is a nonprofit organization with a focus of protecting land and water on nearly five million acres on California’s North Coast encompassing Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. Find out more About us.

Panther Creek Conservation Easement Funded

NRLT has received funding from the California Natural Resources Agency’s Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program to expand a Port Orford cedar reserve across three privately held properties near Willow Creek, CA. Located in the upper Summit and Panther Creek drainages within the Trinity River watershed, the awarded money will fund a 160 acre project enabling connectivity of three conservation easements across 409 forested acres.

We Love Our Board!

This year for the Annual Board Retreat Board members and staff had a weekend stay on the beautiful Smith River bonding and doing some strategic planning. To get out on the land Blake and Stephanie Alexandre and their wonderful children gave us a tour of their sustainable and holistic business: Alexandre Family Eco-Dairy Farms. They also cooked us amazing farm fresh meals with many ingredients that they produced!
