Part of our 25th Anniversary Events: Walk with us at Freshwater Farms Reserve, with stops along the way to engage all of your senses. We will walk to the Wood Creek overlook at the end of the 0.75 mi out and back trail. Hear about past and present restoration of this important tidal wetland, and see it firsthand- especially exciting now that Phase III restoration is underway! This trail is mostly flat, with some benches to rest on throughout. For all ages!
Bring a water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, and your curiosity! The walk will be tailored to you – the people who show up! Option to bring a container to pick your own blackberries along the trail.
Please park in front of the red-roof barn at 5851 Myrtle Ave.
August is a great time for all of your senses to experience this unique public access trail. Plants and wildlife abound, cattle and goats graze the pastures, and ripe blackberries line the trail. Join us for a guided walk and talk. Learn about your local lands, and what NRLT is doing to protect them!
This event is FREE and open to all ages, thanks to a WHALE TAIL grant from the CA Coastal Commission.
Note: This event was RESCHEDULED FROM SEPTEMBER 25th – The Wood Creek Presentation originally scheduled for this date has been rescheduled for September 25th. If you’d like to join us for both events, this walk will provide good context and place-based experience on the land ahead of the talk in September.
